I'm not going to bore you all with a long winded speech here, so I'll keep it short.
Back in early July, Zip and I started work on Version 11. I had originally planned to have it completed for release on the Anniversary, but couldn't meet that deadline. Then I planned on having it ready for the end of July, couldn't do that either. Sometime in August, nope. So now it's September (and if you look above this post, you'll see that it says "September" underneath that nice 11 there).
However, I don't know if I'm going to finish this layout this month. I don't know if I ever will because, to be perfectly honest, I'm not too crazy about it. It was my idea to put this thing up in July, put some new content together to get the site active again, and keep it up until January, when I would come out with V12. V12 would be what I had always wanted ET to become: a community driven gaming portal. Of course, with the forums currently in shambles, only three staff members, and hardly any time on my hands, it would take a lot of work to achieve this.
If I want to do this by January, then why waste time now on something that's going to be useless in a few months? I've pretty much decided to give up on V11, and just start work on V12. I already have some concept designs drawn up, I may post a couple in the forums sometime. I'm not sure if I'm going to put any new content up though (I do have some stuff written), I guess I'll just wait and see. The site isn't loosing any hits.
So I lied about keeping this short, bite me. I would like to thank our few loyal members who have stayed with us through it all, and the few visitors that the site does get (not you Chinese music leechers though... stealing all my bandwidth). Don't give up on ET just yet.
As our regular members will know, next Sunday (13th) is ET's 5th Anniversary. The updates wont be as big as they have been in the past, but we do plan on getting some new content up, and I have a couple of announcements as well. Please note that I do plan on being more active, and more development will take place in the coming months, but more on that on the anniversary.
I apologise for yet another month of no updates, but I've had no time. I have a couple of weeks off towards the end of June, so I'll see what I can do then. Hosting Payment's going through next week, so we're good for another year.
Just a quick post to let you all know that we're still alive
Quick Edit: I almost forgot to mention that there are several new soundtracks up in the Music section, most notably the FLCL soundtracks. I'm constantly working on getting more Anime OST's in there as well as polishing up the game areas, so keep on eye on that section.
Yeah, it's been a while, and it's not even the game I said it would be. Whatever, at least it's something. I will simply say that I have more free time than usual, and that I intend to make a lot of content updates in the coming weeks. No promises, since I usually wind up unable to keep them, but I can try, and I mean to.
Anyway, the Majora's Mask section is now complete, with one exception, but the Master Schedule page is more of something I'm just doing for the fun of it. Eventually I'll pimp out every section with screenshots, and it'll be worth the effort. Majora's Mask is, in my personal opinion, the best game in the Zelda series to date. Yes, not even Ocarina of Time trumps it, and I've played more than my fair share of both. So if you've never played this one through or at least tried it, get your hands on an N64 or GCN and give it a spin. If retro systems aren't your thing, I'm told it'll be hitting the Wii's Virtual Console in the near future, so whatever floats your boat.
On the forums front, we've recently added some new features. Members can now post music to share with other members, make playlists, etc. A similar project is in the works for picture hosting, and next on the list is a newly refurbished Army System.
Yes, I come bearing both good and bad news. The good news is that I'm going to pay for another year of hosting in June, so ET will be good to go for another year. The bad news is that I have no idea of when I will be able to get a real update up. I'm going to see what I can do this weekend (long weekend due to Anzac day in Aus/NZ).
Ben was working on some SSBB content. There's no real "content" up as of yet, but there are some shiny images in the characters section, so check out the Super Smash Bros. Brawl page.
Sorry, not much today. I've put up most of the remaining Dirge of Cerberus and Revenant Wings content, but that's about it. Hopefully I'll be able to write more next week for a larger update, but time is a problem.
We really need content writers, so please send in an application if you want to help out.
Update 2: Some Revenant Wings content for you all. The rest of it should be up in the coming days. Expect some content for the larger games next weekend.
Update: I have updated the Dirge of Cerberus page with some content, and I plan on putting up the rest of it next weekend. Some of the other FF's will also be updated with some content I have laying about either later today, or at some point during next week. Oh, I also put up a page for The Witcher, since I recently finished the game, and figured I may as well write some stuff for it.
And the Staff Application should now be up, so check that out please.

For those of you who visit FEE, this may sound familiar, but as I am too busy during the week to work on content and get it up, I'm going to start updating on the weekend.
Some of the features that are currently down (articles, reviews, previews, webmaster stuff, game news etc.) will be put up in the coming weeks, so look out for that.
A staff application page will be going up tomorrow, as we are in desperate need of content writers. So please, if you are interested, send an application.
I'm going to get some content I have lying around up later tonight, so I'll update this post then.
I'll most likely take it easy for a few weeks as I'm rather restricted as far as time is concerned, but there is quite a lot that has to be done to bring the site back up to speed, and I'll see what I can do to move it along this month.
First and foremost, an apology. This was due a month ago. A blizzard of distractions and the resurgence of homework into my daily schedule put getting content done slightly lower on the priority list than it would have been otherwise. I find myself in a lull, where I can focus a little more attention on the site than I could in the past few weeks, and to start everything off, here's the complete Metroid Prime section. (The three missing pages will be popping up by the end of the week.) I should be able to have another game complete and up by next Friday. Most likely Twilight Princess or Metroid Prime 2: Echoes.
Kudos to Blitz on the layout, and a successful forums upgrade. By the time he gets back, ET should be full to bursting with new content to compliment it. With luck I'll have help with that goal from some of the few remaining staffers.
The forums are going through another bout of slowness, as tends to happen. So I'll encourage those of you who are members already to start new topics and post, and those of you who aren't, to join. And then make new topics and post. There had been a seeming increase in clan activity for a while there, and I was hoping to do something with that.
I'm going to be away for anything from 2-8 weeks starting next Tuesday (the 15th). This was a last minute happening and there's nothing I can do to avoid it, so I apologize. I'll see what I can do to try and get online every now and then, but I can't promise anything.
I'll most likely make a few updates this weekend, and Zip has some content coming soon, but that's about it. For now.
The Nintendo DS remake of Final Fantasy IV is set to release in North America on the 22nd of July 2008, with a PAL release confirmed for this summer (or winter for those of us in the southern hemisphere).
"FINAL FANTASY IV for DS is a classic revived for the 21st century," said John Yamamoto, president and chief executive officer of Square Enix, Inc. "The visual upgrades are remarkable, and the plot has been enhanced with added detail and depth. We hope that fans of the original, as well as players new to the FINAL FANTASY franchise, will enjoy all that this title has to offer."
