Name: Squall Leonhart

Squall is a SeeD Cadet, one who is sent around the world to accomplish and complete all sorts of given missions, working for Balamb Garden. Even he does not know what his past was like, no one does. He rarely deals with others affairs and doesn't really get along with people that well. For that he has earned the title 'The Lone Wolf'. He is a master with the gunblade and has a strong rivalry with Seifer Almasy, who always tries to prove that he is better than Squall. He makes up for his social abilities and teamwork with his excellent combat abilities.

Unlike Seifer, Squall has his pride and reputation. He is one of the most successful SeeD Cadets in Balamb Garden and never looks onto unfairness to accomplish his task. People admire him and look up to him as a leader, a stronger fighter and a successful student. He is pushed into an unwanted part of hero of the world, placing him in a position which requires great responsiblity. He is loyal to his friends but tries to hide and suppress any emotion which shows his bond and relationship with others. He will soon find out that a cold heart can affect anything, even the future of other people and the world.


Name: Laguna Loire

Laguna used to be a Galbadian soldier. After his incident in Centra, he decided to trade his gun for a pen and start writing as a journalist. Though Laguna has not a cold heart of war, he still is a successful fighter and tactican. A friendly, optimistic man who is forever embarassed around women and is always there to volenteer. He has no idea how many look up to him as an idol or a leader due to his blunders. He, like Squall, is always placed into the position of a leader, a part he is unwilling to play. He feels responsible for those in his care, these people include Kiros and Ward, his best friends who trust him and look up to him, they never separate. The trio are thrown into the unthinkable problems thanks to Laguna. But nonetheless, the trio stick together.

Laguna has a strong sense of justice and is about to do something about people who are oppressed or are living in a world of unfairness. This makes him a good leader and an idol to everyone and everything. He somehow is linked with Squall and his group as he mysteriously appears in their dreams. They do not know eachother but somehow they are linked.


Name: Seifer Almasy
Limit Break: Fire Cross
Age: 18
Weapon: Hyperion
Seifer was naturally born with his fighting abilities and excells in everything. However, he is incredibly ambitious and will not let anyone get in his way to becoming more powerful. Seifer has no alignment, he cares for no one but himself which makes be able to do anything. He is not like Squall, who has his pride and reputation, who does not resort to unfairness and cheating when there is a task to be achieved. Seifer doesn't care for any other being which makes him a terrible leader and one who has his own way and makes his own decisions. Seifer doesn't obey orders. He may be one admired for his power and skill with the gunblade, but he isn't one who looked up to.

Seifer loves authority. He loves to be in charge and strike fear to all, especially people. He considers Squall as a rival, one that has matched and survived , as well as beaten everything Seifer is good at or has achieved. While Squall passed his SeeD field exam, Seifer didn't which makes him extremely jealous and out for revenge. He cares not for anyone, even those who are matched or more powerful than he is. His path and rivalry with Squall remains until they meet again along the path.


Name: Rinoa Heartilly

Age: 17
Weapon: Pinwheel
Rinoa is a high-spirited, optimistic woman who touches the hearts of anyone who she meets, including Squall. She is the leader of one of the resistance factors against Galbadia forces.

Rinoa is not one to be messed with. She is talented at fighting and is a true friend. Loyalty is priority to Rinoa, she doesn't allow any of her friends to be left in danger, even if she doesn't stand a chance against what is about to come. Though not a SeeD cadet, Rinoa manages to help Balamb Garden at times. Her combat abilities, skills as a resistance factor leader and her knowledge about current affairs and politics make her a great addition in the war against Galbadian forces. Rinoa worries about not fitting in the group, she is different to the SeeDs and somewhat not really in this mission. But the group manages to have her fit in, they don't want to know what happens if they don't.


Name: Quistis Trepe
Limit Break: Blue Magic
Age: 19
Weapon: Whip
Quistis signed up at Balamb Garden at the age of 15 and passed all her exams with no sweat. She eventually decided to stay at Balamb Garden as an instructor. Unlike other instructors, she is more like a friend than an instructer to her students. This makes the garden authorities look over her carefully. However, she forces herself to keep back and prevent herself from being a friend to ones with less authority.

Although Quistis is an instructor, she finds it difficult to keep away from students and being social with them, those that are of a similar age of her. This makes her think through again and brood alot. She gets depressed often, thinking that she is a failure even though she a successful fighter and a reliable friend. Quistis has hidden feelings to Squall, her student, she wishes she can be more to him, he doesn't really care knowing him.


Name: Zell Dincht

Age: 17
Weapon: Gloves
Zell was raised at the nearby Balamb Town. He joined the Garden at the age of 13 and proved to be a great asset since. Zell always dreamt to be like his grandfather, who was a soldier. He trained in martial arts and mastered it, proving him to be great at hand to hand combat and a dangerous opponent.

Zell is friendly and outgoing, always trying to make an effort to cheer someone up or make friends. His energy overflows and what his next actions may be are impossible to predict. His restless nature and his energy causes him to jump to conclusions and leap before looking. This doesn't make him an ideal leader and what his unthinkable choices can lead to may endanger anyone, including his friends and family. However, Zell is loyal, always looking out for his friends and always enthusiastic to help out. He isn't one to be ordered around but he still is there to help free Balamb from injustice and oppression.


Name: Selphie Tilmitt

Weapon: Nunchaku
Selphie is a cheerful exchange student from Trabia Garden. Though an exchange student, she fitted in well due to her cheerfulness and bubbliness. She, however, must not be underestimated as a fighter due to the image and impression she creates. Her high spirit and carefree manner often distracts her friends from depression and cheers them up.

The lost girl meets Squall in the field exam. They soon become friends and find themselves working together again. Her attitude tends to cheer up people and loosen them from their worries in the battlefield, she doesn't cause more trouble but finds a way to tackle the situation in a different way. She is skilled and powerful contrary to popular belief and never flees from the situation or a challenge. Her attitude is a great addition to the group and her presence is welcomed by all.


Name: Irvine Kinneas

Age: 17
Weapon: Shotgun
Irvine is a ladies man. His charm, lonesome attitude and title as the best sniper and gunsman of all gardens makes him irresistable. His laidback, carefree attitude isn't welcomed to the group at first.

Irvine prefers ladies company more than men. He isn't too compatitable with others, he spends most of his time alone, even though he does hold excellent expertise with guns. Irvine hates strategy and rather not take on with any stress. He's a puzzle. Irvine never fails to cheer someone up though, he eventually manages to trust everyone in Squall's group, even the men. Irvine is much more serious than he seems at a first glance. Eventually, he lets people know his true self. His sole job as a sniper in the adventure puts stress and the dread of failure on Irvine. He respects Squall for helping him deal with his stress and eventually gets over it. The group's view to Irvine eventually changes.
