Weapons in FF8 is one way to make your characters an extra bit stronger. Not only do they look better after time, but they may unlock things like how Squall's Gunblades unlocks his powerful limit breaks. The way you get to know how to create these weapons at a weapon store is by finding and reading the Weapon Monthly magazine. Throughout the game, after reading this magazine, all weapon shops have the option to create the weapons in the latest magazine you read. Weapons is also an excellent way to monitor your battles. If you don't battle enough and do not get the item drops, you will lose out and not be able to obtain these weapons. This is because all weapons mostly require monster dropped items. And some weapons have unique features. Pressing the trigger button just when Squall slashes his gunblade makes a critical hit. It would be useful to keep track of whos weapon has what features.
