What is and how do i get the Zodiac Spear?
The Zodiac Spear is the strongest weapon in the game; at least AP wise (that main gauche gives a nice amount of evasion). Anyway, without prior knowledge of how to get the spear it would be pretty much impossible to get it, so if you are a fair way into the game chances are you have already blown it, sorry.
You have to not open four sets of chests in certain parts of the game:
Outside of Dalan's home in Lowtown.
Two of the chests in the cellar of Rabanastre Palace.
The chests inside the Nalbina Dungeon where you get your equipment back.
The 16 chests lined up on the Phon Coast.

If you dont open any of these chests, you will find the spear in the Necrohol of Nabudis.

How do i get the Demonsbane?
You need to have defeated both the Demon walls in Raithwalls tomb (If you ran from the first one dont worry, he will show up again). Make sure you save the game. Head intothe first room and go up the hidden stairs which were opened up upon the defeat of the first demon wall. There should be a chest; open it. If you get the Demonsbane thats good, but if you get some gil or something else, or if theres no chest at all, thats bad. Restart the game and try it again if the chest wont show up again.
Note: You can get more than one, if youre lucky.

Or you could just wait a bit and buy it from a shop, but it is very useful in that part of the game, when you cant buy it yet.

I cant use the teleport crystals cause i dont have a teleport stone. Where do i get one?
Teleport stones can be fairly hard to come by earlier on in the game. For the most part, only about 3 enemies drop them. You can steal them quite easily from Steelings in the Bhujerba mines if you want an easy few. But as you aquire the Vanguard clan rank you can by them from the Clan Provisions store in the Bazaar.

What is this chain thing that shows up when i kill enemies?
Chains occur when you kill more than one of the same type of enemy in a row, without killing another type of enemy. For example you kill five hyenas you will have a 5 Chain, but if you then go on to kill a Giganatoad the chain will break and you will now have a 1 Chain of the Toad. You can, however, petrify an enemy of a different type, and the chain wont be broken. Remember this as it can come in handy when hunting the rare elementals who drop stuff at really low chances.

At certain points in your chains, depending on how much loot you pick up and some other things, you will go up Chain Levels. I dont know how many you can go up since ive never got much higher than 100 Chains, but there are at least 5 chain levels. Each time you go up the loot will be dropped more frequently and in higher quantities, as well as rarer items. Sometimes you will get a HP/MP boost or some status enhancements when picking up the Golden Disc loot. Experiment with chains as they can be very very useful.

I bought a weapon/spell/etc but my character can't use it.
As well as actually owning the item required, you also need the license for that item/spell in order to be able to use it. Check the License section for more info.

My character is permanently silenced or something.
Wrong; you probably have an Accessory or an Armor equipped that reduces your MP to 0. Just unequip it, and read the description next time. The Dawn Shard and Goddess Magicite both do this, there are probably others.
