Races

Hume
The Humes or Humans seem to make up the majority of the Population of Ivalice. Each Hume has his or her own intelligence, body and facial features and culture. Humes with low intelligence are considered Slaves or Labour Workers. Although some Humes are very intelligent, there are still races with more Intelligence which prefer not to be seen in the presence of Humes.

Viera
Viera are found deep in Ivalices forests; they are considered much more beautiful than the other races of ivalice due to their tall and slender bodies and long silver hair. They are the equivalent of Eleves in the world of Ivalice, and like elves their lives spam up to three times that of the average Hume. Without these features, they could be considered to be a Hume.

There are two types of Viera; the brown skinned Rava and white skinned Veena. Having lost their Homelands in war over 400 years ago, the Rava and Veena started to live amongst Humes, though the pure blooded Viera remain in the forests.

Their eyesight is much greater than that of a Hume; it is said that they can see certain objects from up to 10 KM away. They also have great hearing.

Bangaa
The Bangaa evolved from reptiles over thousands of years; their hard scales giving them great defense. They also have very long ears which hang down low on their heads. Like the Viera, there are more than one type of Bangaa. There are infact four types.

The Banga-Fass have dark bronze skin and are very athletic. Fass means Soldier in the Bangaa language. The Bangaa-Bista have a copper skin, while the Bangaa-Sanga have dark grey skin. Bangaa-Ruga have yellowish skin and shorter ears; they are usually gentler than the other types. They are more likely to be monks or instructors than fighters.

The Bangaa-Ruga and Fass generally make the laws and keep order among the Bangaa. Bista and Sanga lead more layed back types of lifestyle, making it easier to live and interact among Humes more comfortably. While some Bangaa either become rebels or fighters, other Bangaa can become thugs and live to attack and mug people.
Though Lizard Men are closely related to the Bangaa, it is the fact they have such low intelligence that separates them from true Bangaa. Bangaa will take great offense if you were to call one a Lizard or Lizard Man.

Bangaa can live up to 2 times the average Hume lifespan. Because of similar lifestyles and intelligence, the Bangaa coexist with Humes in society quite well.

Moogles
Moogles, who only grow to 2-3 feet tall, look like small bears with bat wings. Atop their heads they have a small red pom-pom that bounces about an antenna. They have soft and fine hair covering their bodies which is often mistaken for fur. They share similar intelligence and lifestyles to Humes, making it easy for them to interact and live amongst them in society. Engineering is not the Moogles only talent, some Moogles even become mages or knights.

Moogles reside not only amongst the Humes, but other races as well. Some Moogles are even so advanced in their knowledge of Technology they have even mastered the Ultimate Technology known as Etoria. While it may seem like any other city, Moogles have a capital in the heart of the city specifically tailored for smaller Moogles. Most of the Hume and Bangaa pass by this part of the city each day. Though there is some great technology within the city, even the smartest Moogles do not understand it.

Seeq
The Seeq are said to have evolved from pigs; and given their appearance this seems to be true. Their intelligence is also said to be little more than that of a pig, but their fast speed makes them excellent fighters and combatants. They make excellent Guards and Mercenaries with their excellent offense and defensive qualities.

The Seeq, with no morale, are usually considered to be highly barbarious, and most of them end up becoming thieves. They like Gold and other types of Jewlery and enjoy wearing it on their ugly bodies, assuming they manage to possess such luxurys.
