Levels and Dungeons

There are four different dungeons in Four Swords, and three different difficulty levels you can play them at.

Dungeons

Chambers of Insight - This area doesn't count as a dungeon because you don't meet a Great Fairy at the end of it. A great place to go if you're a beginner, or playing with a beginner, it gives you an introduction to all of the items as well as certain other aspects of the game.

Sea of Trees - This seemingly endless forest is full of tall grass, peaceful streams, and tranquil meadows. Not to mention the flesh eating plants! This area is pretty normal compared to the things you can find in the other three areas.

Death Mountain - A favorite past time location straight out of Ocarina of Time. Grass is replaced by fire that you can put out with your sword, but will still burn you. Oh, and don't fall in the lava. It's HOT lava.

Talus Cave - These frozen caverns are riddled with weak floors that collapse beneath you and icy paths that are hard to keep your balance on. Also watch out for walls of ice, touching them will freeze you in a block of ice until you get out of it or another player busts you out.

Vaati's Palace - Once you have beaten all three of the above dungeons to the Great Fairies' standards, you can gain access to Vaati's castle in the clouds. This level is way up in the sky, and there's no safety rail, so watch your step. The puzzles are harder, the enemies tougher... I could go on, but you get the picture.

Levels and Keys

Every time you beat a boss, you enter a cut scene where you are talking to a Fairy. The Fairy judges you by how many total rupees you collected. If you have enough, you will get a special key.

The Keys are used to gain access to the different difficulty levels of Vaati's palace. They are color coded to their respective door at the palace.

Silver Door - To open this door you must have three different Silver Keys, one from each dungeon. To get the Silver Keys, you must have a total of 1000 rupees among all players when you see the Great Fairy at the end of each dungeon.

Gold Door - To open this door you must have three different Golden Keys, one from each dungeon. To get the Gold Keys, you must have a total of 3000 rupees among all players when you see the Great Fairy, and all players must have already beaten Vaati on the Silver level.

Hero Door - To open this door you must have three different Hero Keys, one from each dungeon. To get the Hero Keys, you must have a total of 5000 rupees among all players when you see the Great Fairy, and all players must have already beaten Vaati on the Silver and Gold levels.

Note - The normal dungeons will get harder if you are going for Gold Keys, and harder still if you are going for Hero Keys. You haven't really beaten Vaati until you've done it at the Hero level.
