Golden Sun and its sequel, The Lost Age (essentially parts one and two of a single story) are two of the most well received games for the Gameboy Advance. Their popularity was astounding for a handheld game, and both titles were given outstanding scores by game rating websites and magazines. The game play is that of the classic RPG, exploring dungeons, towns, and the world map from an overhead perspective, and battling in turn-based menu-flipping action: your row of characters versus the opposing row of enemies. Camelot spiced up the old formula with plenty of new goodies though, such as psynergy and Djinn that work as both class-changing tools and summons in battle. Add in graphics that seem to surpass their 32-bit limitations and an epic musical score and it’s easy to see why these games were so well loved. |
