Prologue
"Gallowmere tells a tale hero, Sir Dan Fortesque, who single-handedly stopped an army of zombies created by Zarok the sorcerer..."
...but then, history is told by winners... what they want people to believe... that sentence is shash...
For years, Dan Fortesque had told tall tales to the nobles of Gallowmere about slaying dragons and conquering regions. The King (probably being an idiot) believed his shash and appointed him head of the royal Battalion. Of course it was only an honorary post- Gallowmere had not had a war in Aeons- but the king liked tales, and Dan was an excellent storyteller.
The evil sorcerer Zarok, who had returned from being in exile for years. Filled with wraith and evil, he threatened to crop up his army of zombies and un-deads from the ground. He created them with the most evil magic in Gallowmere.
The King in absolute desperation got Dan out of bed to lead his army against Zarok. When the battle commenced with arrows, Dan brought it in the eye and snuffed it. The army was left to fend for themselves. (They were better off without him).
Zarok's army were defeated but Zarok's fate remain unknown. Humilliated by Dan's performance, wanting to make his comrades feel secure, King Peregrin announced he had fought valiantly and killed Zarok before dieing horribly. The book's of History showed him as a hero and his own crypt was built. (My Lord!)
Zarok soon was forgotten from Gallowmere, lost from the books, Zarok however, was not dead. He lay in hiding, creating an even more frightful army. ,br>
Years later, The wretched sorcerer returned...
