Weapons
There are a variety of weapons in Medievil I. I have put them into categories for a quick reference. Some weapon's fall under 2 categories. I'll say which one's do
I: Knives, Swords and blades
II: Bows and projectiles
III: Maces
IV: Magical
V: Shields
I.I Small Sword
Uses: Unlimited (except from pinchies)
Location: Dan's Crypt
Description: Fortescue's first weapon, A small sword which is good enough to get through the Graveyard. It won't be used after you get the Broadsword, which is rather soon.
I.II Throwing Daggers
Uses: 250 (and pinchies)
Location: Dan's Crypt
Description: This weapon falls under I and II but it's daggers, it falls under this. It should be in II but I'll put it in here. This weapon(s) is your back-up projectile. Once you get the Crossbow, this weapon(s) becomes your back-up. Not very powerful but good enough for 1 level. That's right, 1. You get the crossbow after level one if you got the chalice. So after that, it'll be a back-up.
I.III Broadsword
Uses: 100% charge (and pinchies)
Location: Hall of Hero's.
Description: This weapon also falls under Magic but it's a sword... so it's under swords The Broadsword is gotten on your 5th visit to the Hall of Hero's. It has a magical charge for 100 seconds. It has a percentage. Once it's gone, the weapon becomes a reguler sword. The weapon will be used as your primary sword for quite a while because the next sword is gotten at the crystal caves. That's about 9 levels away so you will be using the Broadsword for a while.
I.IV Magic Sword.
Uses: Unlimited
Location: Hall of Hero's
Description: I suppose this weapon falls under Magic by name but it's a sword. The ultimate sword comes late in the game. This blade is very Powerful. It is strong enough to kill a zombie in one or two hit's. You will never use a weaker sword unless it gets pinched. You need a lot of chalices to get it but it's worth it. I say wait until you have this before attempting the asylum.
II.I Crossbow
Uses: 200
Location: Hall of Heroes
Description: Probably your primary bow. The crossbow will be used for a long time. Even when you get the longbow, this bow will be you best bow. It can shoot 20 bolts in 10 seconds. It can give quick damage and lots of it. The best thing is you get it VERY early in the game so you can use it for a while. You get 3 other bows. It's up to you but this one is the fastest and has the most bolts.
II.II Spears
Uses: 30
Location: Hall of Heroes
Description: The spear is ok. I don't use it THAT often so I'm not giving it much credit. Sure it does damage but stick to bows or the axe. The spear has a small range and little ammunition. It also costs a bit to recharge. So use it if you want to but I wouldn't. However it does do insane damage so if you like to deal damage quickly... I suggest the spear.
II.III Longbow
Uses: 200
Location: Hall of Heroes
Description: The longbow is your second bow. It is a good bow. It has better range and damage then the Crossbow. However it is a bit slow. I reccomend it to those who want to do more damage in the short term. The crossbow is better in the long term but hey... raw attack isn't too bad.
II.IV Chicken Drumsticks (optional)
Uses:30
Location: The Enchanted Earth/Ant Caves
Description: This weapon is handy. It falls under Magic as well but it is a projectile. It is a must use in The Lake. The weapon will turn whatever is in it's range into chicken. The chicken heals 30 hp each but you have to be quick, it disapears. In the Lake, monsters on the platforms are tough to kill but will die instantly with the Chicken Drumstick. I say save it till The Lake because the only way to recharge it is to do the Ant Caves again. No one wants to do that to get the Drumsticks recharged.
II.V The Axe
Uses: Unlimited
Location: Hall of Heroes
Description: The Axe falls under 3 catorgories. This catorgory is probably the best. The weapon can smash with it's edge and be thrown like... well an axe. The advantage with it is that you can hit it form close range and another advantage is that it's unlimited. No more buying. I say the axe is good but I just use the bows. I say use it if you're short on funds.
II.VI Flaming Longbow
Uses: 150
Location: Hall of Heroes
Description: The Flaming Longbow is, well, a weapon which isn't going to be used often or used all the time. It does more damage then the longbow because it sets fire to things and does graduall damage. It's good on enemies but it is a bit slow like the longbow and the arrows are a bit more dear. I would use it to do more damage slowly but It dosen't set fire to everything. Also it comes in the second half of the game. So I say use it but if you want quick damage, use The Crossbow.
II.VII Magical Longbow
Uses: 50
Location: Hall of Heroes
Description: This weapon isn't worth it. It comes in late, It has the least ammunition of the projectiles other then the Drumstick (Which is Optinonal,) and what's more, it's slow. The bolts take so long to shoot. It falls under 2 catorgories but this is probably the best. It's not worth it, seriously. It may be very effective against the Shadow Demon's and it comes with a charge attack but, It has so little Ammunition, It's slow, you buy 10 bolts at a time and... they are the dearest things you can buy except stuff pinched. They cost so much. So don't use it, it ain't worth it.
III.I The Club
Uses: 100%
Location: Various (Cematary Hill is where you first get it.)
Description: This is the first smashy thing you get. There are only II Maces and this is one of them(The Axe is also a Mace but I consider it a projectile). This weapon has a breaking point. Once it's gone, it goes like a Shield. It is definetly needed in The Hillitop Mausoleam. You need it to get the Witch Talisman and Ultimetly the Chicken Drumstick and the Dragon Armour. So why is it so useful? Not only can it smash things but be doubled as a torch. It can be used to light torches, hay and used to hit with a flaming club. You need it in the Mausoleam to smash glass. Once you get the Hammer, The Club will be used only as a torch.
III.II The Hammer
Uses: Unlimited
Location: Hall of Heroes
Description: This is the last mace weapon you get and the better one of the matter. For starters it won't break. It has unlimited uses. It also does a lot more damage then the club and can do a charge attack. This will be your mace weapon unless you favour the axe. The Hammer does more damage, has a charge. The club is used to light things and The Axe is used as a projectile. You can choose but The Club will be needed to get the Chicken Drumstick. The Hammer is my Smashy but you can use The Axe. They're both good.
IV.I The Lightning
Uses: 100%
Location: Hall of Heroes
Description: The Lightning... ah yes. This is your only true magical attacker. The biggest problem is that magical weapons are hard to recharge. This weapon is destructive. It can cause damage but be wary. Once you have used it all, you can never get it back. It comes in late so you won't completely use it unless you love it to bits. I suggest using it sparringly. It may be unrechargable but dosen't mean you should hold on to it.
IV.II Good Lightning
Uses: Unlimited
Location: Zarok's Lair
Description: This isn't a good weapon but you need to use it of the battle of the undead. This weapon can only be used in Zarok's Lair and it has to be used. It drains your life and gives it to your troops. It is a must. Your troops will never survive unless you give them life. I suggest you have 7 life bottles before even using this weapon. It is a must and It lasts forever. So... survive it at least.
V.I Copper Shield
Uses: 150 endurance
Location: All Around Gallowmere in chests. First one in Dan's Crypt.
Description: A shield. It isn't a weapon. I really don't bother with shields but you can. It only has 150 endurance and it's circle. Use Shields but I honestly don't bother. If you want to, use it.
V.II Silver Shield
Uses: 250 endurance
Location: All Around Gallowmere in chests. First one in Scarecrow Fields.
Description: A shield. This one is a shield shape. Double the endurance of the Copper Shield, it'll hold on for a bit longer. I say use it if you want but I don't bother
V.III Gold Shield
Uses: 400 Endurance
Location: Hall of Heroes
Description: The Gold Shield is another shield with a lot more endurance... It also protects for a while... I'd use it but I seem to just rush through the game so I didn't bother but if your new and you get this... I suggest using it to it's full extent. If it runs out, you can repair it... So it is rechargable... It also dosen't cost much.
V.IV Dragon Armour
Uses: Unlimited
Location: Crystal Caves
Description: This is Dragon Armour. It falls under Magic as well but it's armour so it goes here. It looks good on Dan and it will protect him against fire. It is very handy in The Gallow's Gauntlet to get though the fire. Not only does it protect against fire but it breaths fire. So when you set fire to something, your immune to it. Very Handy. However, you need to complete the Asylum and that's hard. You also need the Witch Talisman but that is easier. You get hurt if you step in water so be wary. I say use it for The Gallows Gauntlet, but after that, dump it.
