Heart Piece Locations

There are a total of 52 pieces throughout the game, for a maximum 13 extra heart containers.

Clock Town

- In North Clock town, next to the slide, it’s pretty obvious sitting there in the tree. Climb the pillars or use the bunny hood to run up the slide and jump across to it.

- This one is kind of hard not to get. Swap the Moon’s Tear with the Scrub in South Clock Town for his flower, and fly to the Clock Tower as Deku Link.

- Get a perfect score at the Swordsman’s School minigame.

- Get a total of 5000 coins stored in the bank in West Clock Town.

- On Day 1 or Day 2 in the post office, talk to the Postman after he’s finished his run. Play his minigame and get a perfect 10.

- On the first or second night, use Kamaro’s Mask and dance in front of the Rosa Sisters while they’re practicing. It’s worth the odd looks.

- Win the Keaton Quiz in North Clock Town. For more information see Keaton Quizzes.

- Go into the Stock Pot Inn at midnight, and head to the “business” room. When the hand in the toilet starts waving around, give him a Title Deed. Poor guy.

- Talk to Mayor Dotour in East Clock Town while wearing the Couple’s Mask.

- The first time you use the Postman’s Hat on a mailbox you should receive a piece of heart. For working so diligently, you postman you.

- Talk to Anju’s chair-bound grandma and listen to her story, “On the Eve of the Carnival,” while wearing the All Night’s Mask.

- Talk to Anju’s grandma again, this time listen to the Four Giants story. Choose “I dunno,” as your answer when she’s done. Be sure to keep on the All Night’s Mask.

- Score a 50 in the East Clock Town Shooting Gallery.

- Get the high score three days in a row at Honey & Darling’s minigame and they’ll present you with a piece of heart. All three games are different.

- Win the giant Treasure Chest game in East Clock Town as Goron Link.

- Play the Deku Scrub underground minigame in North Clock town and get the high score three days in a row.

Termina Field

- Go to the Astral Observatory from the bomber’s secret path. Look through the telescope until you see a Deku flying and touching down in Termina Field. Get to him as quick as you can and refuse his first offer of 150 rupees to receive the piece for 100.

- In the northern area there is a hole underneath one of the stone mushrooms. Defeat the two Dodongos inside.

- In each of the four sections of the field, there is a hole that leads to a simple room with only a Gossip Stone inside. Play the same Temple song for each stone to receive a piece of heart.

- In the southern part of the field, there is a hole hidden under the grass. Watch for butterflies. Drop inside and defeat the Peahat.

- On the Eastern part of the field, before the entrance to Great Bay, bust open the bombable rock and drop down. Shoot the beehive and then transform to a Zora to retrieve the prize.

Southern Swamp

- Climb the giant tree’s vines to get the heart at the top.

- Swap the Land Title Deed with the Deku outside the tour booth. Use the flower to reach the heart.

- After you’ve beaten Odolwa, go back to the tour booth and talk to Kotake. Play her minigame and shoot at least 20 targets.

- Take a pictograph of the Deku King back to the tour booth.

- Play the archery mini-game in the entrance area and get a perfect score.

Deku Palace

- There’s a fairly obvious piece of heart in the left-hand maze. Avoid the guards.

Woodfall

- Use the Deku flowers stemming from the large center platform where you play the song until you reach a golden chest.

Mountain Village

- After defeating Goht, become a Zora and sink to the bottom of the pond with all the bridges over it. There’s a chest down there with a piece of heart.

- Defeat Goht, then talk to all the frogs in the game while wearing Don Gero’s mask. There’s one at the laundry pool, one on a log in the swamp, and one that will appear after defeating the minibosses in both Woodfall Temple and Great Bay Temple. They will all show up in the Mountain Village pond, so join them in their song.

- Use the lens of truth in the Snowhead entrance area to see some hidden platforms. Jump across them and then play Scarecrow’s Song and use your hookshot.

- Trade the Swamp Title Deed to the Deku outside the Goron Shrine. Use the flower to reach a piece.

Great Bay

- Play the beaver brother’s minigame after climbing up to it by hookshot-ing all of the palm trees, then play it again after winning the Bottle.

- Dive down to the bottom of the pool under the waterfall.

- Talk to the Stalchildren in the Spider House while wearing the Captain’s hat. Shoot the faces in the right order to open the door.

- This one is kind of hard not to get. After helping the seahorses, if you didn’t just ditch them after getting the last egg, they’ll drop off a piece of heart for your efforts.

- Feed normal fish to the two fish inside the Marine Biologist’s tank. Keep bringing them fish until one gets big enough to eat the other.

- After defeating Gyorg, ride the boat and hookshot to the island before you go past it. Play the fisherman’s minigame.

- Use the hookshot to the target outside the pirate’s fortress. Plant and water a seed in the soft soil and play the Scarecrow’s Song at the top. Hookshot to your prize.

Zora Hall

- Go into Mikau’s dressing room and hookshot up to the ledge. Read his journal and memorize the song. Jam out as a Zora with the guitarist and then go play the finished product to the pianist as normal Link.

- Trade the Mountain Title Deed with the Deku in Lulu’s dressing room and use his flower.

Pirate’s Fortress

- There is a room with a Heart Piece in plain sight in a cage. On the floor above in the same room, there’s a large switch that you must push down as a Goron. Switch back quickly and use the bunny hood to get inside.

Ikana Canyon

- Swap the Ocean Title deed with the Deku outside Sakon’s hideout. Make sure your wallet is empty- he’ll load you up with 200 fat ones. You know the rest of the drill by now.

- Play the Ghost Collector’s minigame near the Music Box House.

Ikana Graveyard

- On the night of Day 2, use the Captain’s Hat and command the Stalchildren to open the graves. Under one of them, use the Lens of Truth to get to the bombable wall and then defeat the Ironknuckle.

Ikana Ruins

- At the top of the ruins there is a switch that controls the fire around the Deku flowers. Turn it off and use the flowers.

- There’s a door under the waterfall with a smiling sun above it. Shoot the sun with a light arrow and go inside. Each of the four rooms has a certain number of hearts required to access them. If you can, go into and clear all four rooms. If you can’t, go and get more hearts.

Romani Ranch

- Win a bet for at least 50 rupees at the Doggy Racetrack. Use the Mask of Truth to commune with the pups and pick the most confident.

The Moon

- In the Odolwa dungeon, fly up to the moving platform and then use the gold flower to launch yourself to the back side of the room.

- This is a pretty hard one. In the Goht dungeon, roll around as a Goron until you have a pretty good lay of the land. From the entrance, go straight ahead and keep going. Make the correct turns at all the angled bounces including the treasure chests until you land on the other platform. Realign yourself and perform another treasure chest bounce and just keep going.

- In the Gyorg dungeon… aw, who am I kidding. Left, right, left, left. There you go.

- In the Twinmold dungeon, get to the end where there’s some bombchus and a hole in the wall. Blow up the hole, and then use a fire arrow.
