It's for summoning the famous six tailed fox spirit, Keaton! (No, not Naruto, that one has nine tails, and is a demon, respectively). If you manage to chop up all the tufts of grass in the patches that scatter after the first blow, Keaton will pop out of the ground and quiz you, if you are wearing the Keaton Mask while doing so. The easiest way to accomplish this is with the second reforged sword, charge up a spin attack outside the grass than walk to the center and let it loose. You can also pull it off with a Powder Keg, just be sure to be Link and wearing the Keaton Mask when it goes off. Truly skilled people can do it with just the Kokiri Sword, but it takes true skills. His questions are pretty easy, and you can get one Piece of Heart for each location you find him at. The questions he asks you are randomly selected from a list each time.
