Songs
Just a note- playing these songs does absolutely nothing unless you have been taught them in the game already. Also, if you're into the musical aspect, you can change the notes into flats or sharps by holding Z and R (L and R in the GCN version). Directions apply to the corresponding C button.
Zelda's Lullaby- Left, Up, Right, Repeat
This song is taught to you by Impa, and is proof that you represent the Royal Family. Play it when standing near Triforce symbols. It also lets you into the Zora's Domain, and it will fix any signs you have chopped to pieces if you are standing near enough to the post.
Epona's Song- Up, Left, Right, Repeat
Taught to you by Malon in the past, and used to summon Epona, your noble steed, in the future. Also, if you happen to come across any cows, playing this song reminds them of the ranch, and they will fill a bottle with milk for you (if you have an empty one).
Saria's Song- Down, Right, Left, Repeat
Taught to you by it's namesake, Saria, this song turns your Ocarina into a walkie-talkie of which Saria is on the other end of. If you need any hints of what to do next, ring her up with this song, and as long as she's there to help, she'll all but tell you exactly what to do. Darunia and Skull Kid seem to like the catchy little tune.
Sun's Song- Right, Down, Up, Repeat
This song is etched into a grave deep beneath the Kakariko Graveyard. Playing it will switch day to night or night to day, no matter your location. It also freezes Redeads, preventing them from petrifying you with that annoying howl.
Song of Time- Right, A, Down, Repeat
Taught to you by Zelda, the Song of Time is used primarily to open the door to the Temple of Time. It also makes the blue blocks marked with the symbol of time appear or disappear, depending.
Song of Storms- A, Down, Up, Repeat
Taught by Guru-Guru of the Kakariko Windmill in the future. Playing the song causes a storm to brew. If you play it again in the windmill in the past, the windmill will over pump the well, draining it to your convenience.
Minuet of the Forest- A, Up, Left, Right, Left, Right
Taught by Sheik. Warps you to outside the Forest Temple, next to the stump that Saria sits on to play her tune.
Bolero of Fire- Down, A, Down, A, Right, Down, Right
Taught by Sheik. Warps you into Death Mountain right next to the Fire Temple entrance.
Serenade of Water- A, Down, Left, Left, Right
Taught by Sheik. Warps you to Lake Hylia, above the Water Temple entrance.
Nocturne of Shadow- Left, Right, Right, A, Left, Right, Down
Taught by Sheik. Warps you to a spot in the graveyard that cannot be reached in any other way, and is necessary for reaching the Shadow Temple.
Requiem of Spirit- A, Down, A, Right, Down, A
Taught by Sheik. Warps you to the desert, outside the Spirit Temple. This is required because it's the only way to get there in the Past.
Prelude of Light- Up, Right, Up, Right, Left, Up
Taught by Sheik as soon as you finish the Forest Temple. Playing this song brings you to the Temple of Time, very convenient.
Scarecrow's Song
This is a fun one. You get to come up with this song, and here's how. When you meet the scarecrow next to Lake Hylia as a Child, he will ask you to play him a song. Play him one, and remember what it is. I'd keep it simple if I were you. When you go back to Lake Hylia as an adult, play him the same tune, and now you've got the Scarecrow's Song. This will make the scarecrow pop up in certain areas and allow you to use him as a hookshot target. Try using it when you see Navi fly off to a distant place and turn green.
